Specialized are one of the biggest bike manufacturers in the business, they make pretty much every type of bike on the market and are constantly churning out new models year after year. They were founded in 1974 by Mike Sinyard and have grown year on year ever since.

Their Rockhopper mountain bike model has been in production since 1985 and has been revised year after year. It really shows the evolution of the mountain bike. A modified version of the Specialized Rockhopper mountain bike is currently being used by the London Ambulance Service for their Cycle Response Units which operate in busy parts of central London. Downhill world champion Loic Bruni is sponsored by Specialized so if you buy one of their bikes you are in good company.
